Discovering the Region between Schleswig and the Geltinger Bucht by bike

Schleswig: Viking tour

Discover the western part of the Schlei. Starting in Schleswig, you cycle through old Viking country to the Schlei ferry in Missunde. On your way back on the southern shore of the Schlei, you find the bathing beach in Fleckeby, the nature park of Louisenlund and the Hedeby Viking Museum.

Kappeln: Herring tour

The herring tour leads you to new shores. Starting from the harbour of Kappeln, you can take a look at Kappeln and the 500-year-old fish weir from the modern flap bridge. A bit later, take a break at the broad Weidefelder Strand and have a snack at the beach restaurant Lobster directly at the Baltic Sea. Then, take the Sundsacker ferry back to the north shore of the Schlei and continue on to Arnis, the smallest town in Germany. From there, you can get back to Kappeln passing Grödersby.
