Lindaunis
Country flair known from TV
Lindaunis belongs to the Boren municipal and is a picturesque village at the Schlei. Its landscape is shaped by agriculture offering holidays in a rural atmosphere. Lindaunis is well-known due to the Lindauhof near the Noor. Here, the fictional doctor from the German TV series "Der Landarzt" (the country doctor) used to have his practice. Nowadays, you can find a lovely café at the Lindauhof which makes you remember the good old days.
Just as worth seeing as the former practice, is the Schlei bridge in Lindaunis built in the year 1927 connecting the Schwansen peninsula with Angeln. What's so special about this bridge is that one single lane is used by cars, cyclists, pedestrians and even the train from Kiel to Flensbug.
At a quarter to every hour the bridge opens for ship traffic to pass. The Deutsche Bahn (German railway) plans to build a new bridge starting in the middle of 2017 since the Lindaunis bridge is old and is becoming more and more susceptible to deterioration.
