Slow down, it's time forA village history: Damp
The Baltic Sea Resort
Today's Baltic Sea Resort Damp opened in 1973.
The original resort, which was aimed at tourism, has developed even during its construction to an area with a touristic and clinical part. Apart from a hotel and holiday homes, a rehabilitation centre was erected taking a leading role in Germany today due to its location.
As regards the tourism part, the resort didn't remain static. Apart from the extensive accommodation and the beautiful beach on the Baltic Sea, there is a bath inviting everyone to discoveries with seawater and a fun & sports centre offering diverse recreational activities – even when it's raining cats and dogs. Boat owners can also find their place in the sun on one of the marina's 365 berths.
The Renaissance Damp manor dating back to the year 1595 is quite idyllic. The 10 metre high entrance hall is very imposing and the excellent pargetting together with the 18th century furniture blend in perfectly. The baroque-styled garden is an excellent vision attraction.
The manor's former cowshed is run as a restaurant today. Enjoy an idyllic overview of the residence from here.
