Slow down, it's time forA village history: Waabs
A holiday paradise along a Baltic Sea beach
The Waabs community consists of the districts Klein-Waabs, Groß-Waabs and Langholz as well as several small villages. Hilly landscapes were formed during the Ice Age, which invite you to long walks and various bicycle tours along the Baltic Sea. The 12-metre high cliff from Langholz to Booknis is particularly appealing.
Besides the cliffs, the long barrow in Karlsminde, a 56-metre long megalithic grave in the middle of the country, is worth a visit. Waabs is also great for cycling tours with the coastal cycle path at the Baltic Sea leading through this community all the way to Lübeck.
Discover Waabs not only from the land but also from the water. The 13-kilometre long Baltic Sea beach in the community offers enough space to move about at and in the water. Here, the Baltic Sea offers infinite possibilities for sailors, wind and kite surfers and simply is an ideal holiday destination.
A great place to go is the Sophienhof Estate which holds a few surprises for holidaymakers. Discover golfing on a whole new level with a game of swingolf, footballgolf or indoor miniature golf – great fun for the young and old.
Just as good is the Ludwigsburg Estate with its farm shop offering regional products directly from the producer. Above all, Waabs is a nice destination for horseback trips. A choice of various horse tracks and horse farms invite you to a riding holiday in Waabs.
Where do you spend the night after such an exciting day in Waabs? Well, there is a campsite directly at the Baltic Sea, a holiday home or perhaps the comfortable hay hostel. It's your choice.
